Tour d'Trailer

Since I told you what I did with my trailer, I thought I'd show you around. The trailer started out as a 2 room blank canvas for furnishings, which is one of the reasons I chose Sho Nuff. No redneck decor or nasty toilets to deal with. Ewww.

This is the bed area of my bedroom. The bed itself is 6p, the bedside table is 1, the photo is 1, the lamp (you can't really see since it's blue) is 1, the photo viewer is 2, & the curtains are 3. (fyi: I made the curtains myself & they open & close with just a touch.) The walls & floor came preset. The rabbit sketch is a detail of a pre-painting sketch a RL friend of mine did:~D The photo on the bedside table is my mom. Maybe it's my southern roots, but a picture of momma is a must!

Here you can see the rest of my lovely pine dresser set that matches the bedside table, the tall dresser has 1p & the dresser with the mirror has 3. Witness the marvelous 3p television, retro style with rabbit ears, that true to trailer fashion does not work, lol. It may need aluminum foil on the antennae. (note: if you do not own the land media streaming devices will not work in your home, unless they are deeded to the group.) To add real trailer flair I have a picture of my daddy (1p) which I'm currently standing in front of, & a 1p collage I made of various photos of friends & family, along with Jesus, a sexy actor, funny cats, & an ad for baby wigs (because even babies look better with big hair). Sadly the image didn't come out very crisp. I may work on it some more one day & see if I can fix that.

Ah, now my bathroom is a source of pride for me, & a hefty chunk of my prim budget considering it's size. The bath tub is 8p & you can fill & drain the water, plus it has a pose ball so you can relax in the tub (no worries - I'm dressed;~)) The towel bar is 2p, the toilet is 1p (it's a sculpted prim with flush sound, lol), the roll of toilet paper sitting on the back of the toilet (because who wants to bother with a roll holder?) is 1p, the rug is 1p, & the sink - oh the sink/mirror combo - is 7p. You can turn the water on & off with a touch, & it actually runs in the sink, & if you right click it gives you the option to wash your hands. You will actually stand there & wash your hands. Isn't that fabulous! (I don't care how trashy you are, frequent hand washing is a must, especially after using the potty, even in SL:~p) I thought I bought an old sign advertising a constipation treatment the other day, but can't find it. oh well.

Now the blue & black tile floor you see is a 1p addition of mine. To help divide the bedroom/bathroom & kitchen/living room areas I created 1p tile floors for the bathroom & the kitchen. To do this choose Build & create a cube. Stretch the cube along the length & width to fit your space, & for the height make it as deep as you need it for how high you want your floor. I went for height in the bathroom, but you'll see later I kept the kitchen pretty well even with the living room floor. You can add any texture you like, but the standard floor textures has some nice tile options, among others. Both of mine came from there. I recommend not stretching the texture with the size & play around with the number of repeats to get the tile size you like.

This is just another view of how I divided the bathroom & bedroom. In this one you can see the screen I made (with a little help from a friend for the transparency in the photos I used - gracias Eliot:~p). The screen is all one prim. I was tickled pink to find an online pic of a towel monogrammed with a B!

You could also create a separate room inside your home using a hollowed out cube to make a floor & walls with just one prim. Hollowing it out will give you two open ends, so you'll need to create a door too if you want one. I've seen some very cool 1p beaded curtains out there that would be sweet dividers/doors too.

Now here is one view of my very cool living room. The lamp, bean bag chair, table, rug, velvet Elvis, & that bum flipping birds in my window are all 1p each; the couch is 7p. It has 1 anim, a stretched out on your belly pose you'll see in a bit, but the rug has quite a few c&s anims. The bean bag has a few different sits in it & the lamp lights up with a touch.

Here is a second view of the living room. you can see the entertainment center - 1p, my fallen angel pic - 2p (in honor of my late mother), the washer & dryer - 1p, hamper - 1p, super awesome Stray Cats poster - 1p, & part of the kitchen - 1p. You can also see some of the kitchen floor. Oh & the couch pose I mentioned earlier.

You can see the EC, W/D, & kitchen are all examples of the 1p furniture using photo textures. You can't see I used this for the hamper by adding a picture of some jumbled clothes to the top & a basket weave texture to the other sides.

Here is another picture of me laying around on the couch, lol, but this shows you a full view of the kitchen & dining area. You can get low prim dining sets, but I made that one myself, including the lovely ashtray. The table & chairs are each made of 2p & the ashtray is 1p. It is super funky & I love it! (it's also for sale on xstreet, or if you visit my home *ahem*)

And this is just another view of the kitchen floor. You get more detail of the tile here. Ooh, & you can see my lovely turquoise ashtray. IMHO, it's the best 1p ashtray in SL:~D (please ignore the sitting pose, I still had my HUD off from when I was in the tub earlier & it's just the default sit:~/)

Also, out the window you can see the neighbor's with the coke machine on the front porch. Classic! There's broken furniture, pizza boxes, & wire spool tables out there too, yeehaw!

And one more for the road...

Bianca's window bum just couldn't let you leave without saying goodbye! lol (that is also how he says hello, it's his version of aloha) I was playing around with this for a logo. Can anyone tell those are supposed to be trailer wheels? (btw - to join the window bum revolution click here
- he is listed as mature content)

Well, if you are interested in seeing my home in-world click here. I leave my door unlocked (shhh - don't tell the robbers or the meth geeks next door....) so feel free to stop by anytime - just don't be surprised if I'm standing around naked. I am forever in there editing clothes & such. Now that I've put it out there, I should probably consider locking the door when I'm "entertaining".

Well, hope you enjoyed the tour! I'd love to see what you guys have done, so feel free to drop some slurls or links to pics below, & let me know if you'd like to do a tour d'your own trailer here:~) (ps, I know I plugged a few things, as they were relevant, but do try to keep the shameless self-promotion to a minimum, k? You can always drop me a link to your stuff & I'll post it in the right spot.)
